Jack Frame
Born
1983
Nationality
UK
Born in Chatham, Kent, in 1983, Jack Frame graduated from Glasgow School of Art in 2007 with a sell-out degree show and Glasgow School of Art Landscape painting prize, followed by a Jolomo Awards in 2009 and later the Standard Life Award. He was featured in the BBC documentary ‘The Glasgow Boys’ as the up-and-coming generation of the landscape painters movement.
Frame is particularly renowned for his blossom trees individually set floating in the centre of the canvas, isolated from all other natural elements on metal backgrounds. This body of work is part of his continued journey to explore the tension between the representation of the natural through an artificial medium and environment.
